That article is old and does NOT get to root of the issue!
Sure it will get rid of all of the files in the xfer folder but it does not solve the problem. As far as I can tell from these forums Symantec has been working on this for more than a year.
Does anyone know what the deal is?
I've had 5 workstations with this issue in the last 2 weeks 4 of which filled their harddrives.
Please explain how this might happen.

xfer tmp issue in this and other treads
As a Symantec Partner I am disappointed with the apathy of the Symantec Endpoint Protection team.
Users have been waiting patiently for a fix to the “xfer - temp file” issue/problem for over 2 years.
I can no longer condone such inaction and, even though I am a Symantec Partner, I am now forced to advise my corporate clients to adopt alternative anti-virus solutions in their next upgrade cycle.
This will obviously adversely affect how I view Symantec’s other products and their SLA’s.

Hi Pistola
I understand your frustration about this issue not being resolved...However, just wanted to comment that, you would similar or even more such issues, in other vendors too. Symantec is best, and we are committed to customer, and partner satisfaction...we are working towards resolving this issue...
