Latest Manager Version

We have an internal LU server which pulls down definition updates daily, our SEPM then updates itself from this and our clients then update from the SEPM.  If I check the management console it shows that clients are updating with latest available definition and if I check the LiveUpdate downloads these show correctly.  However the latest manager version is not updating.  The AV client on the server is up to date as well.  If I download the jdb file and update the definitions that way, the manager version updates as expected.

I've followed some of the suggestions in other threads on this forum but still have the problem.  Is there anything else I can try?

 When your LUA will send

When your LUA will send Definitions to SEPM it will process the definitions and will show the right information.
If you configure in liveupdate policy to download the definitions from LUA then your SEPM will not show the ( SEPM defitions ) as current as they are not processing the definitions. The clients are directly taking it from LUA.

When you download JDB the SEPM processes the definitions and it will show current SEPM defs as latest.

Thanks for the quick response

Thanks for the quick response.

I don't fully understand what you mean when you say:

When your LUA will send Definitions to SEPM it will process the definitions and will show the right information.  If you configure in liveupdate policy to download the definitions from LUA then your SEPM will not show the ( SEPM defitions ) as current

How should I configure the SEPM to receive it's updates from the internal LUA?

hm, odd

Latest Manager Version should be taking its information from the revision column in the 'Show LiveUpdate Downloads'.  Are those the only three items in that window when you open 'Show LiveUpdate Downloads'?  There should be many more types of content listed.  64-bit definitions are also not updated, even though you mentioned using a JDB file.

Is LUA on the same machine as the SEPM?  I suspect not because the SEPM appears to not have an internet connection, based on the 'Latest Symantec Version' being essentially empty.

While local to the server, you might want to repair the SEPM installation.  If something has gotten corrupted this should fix it.

We only download what we

We only download what we require and as we don't have any 64bit clients at the minute, it seems pointless to download 64bit virus definitions.

LUA is running on the same machine as the SEPM and updates fine, I just haven't configured the proxy server settings in SEPM.  It seems a bit extreme to repair the SEPM installation when everything else is working fine, I would rather do that as a last resort.

That makes sense, I just thought it odd that the date/revision was different between 32 and 64 bit when a JDB updates both.

Try using dbvalidator.  If the database is broken it could explain why the wrong date is being popped into the Home page.  Unfortunately, if the database fails validation, a repair on the SEPM installation will not fix it.

Do I need to do what is suggested in the link you provided as the definitions are updating both on the server and our clients, the only thing that isn't updating is the latest manager version on the SEPM console.
