  • 1.  Latest SEP breaks PPTP VPN

    Posted Jul 03, 2014 10:53 PM

    Hi all,

    I have SEP 12.1.4013.4013 running on Win7.

With the latest updates it breaks PPTP VPN to a VMware vCenter. It can connect to it, authenticate and all, but timed out "Loading Inventory".

If I disable SEP, it works normally.

I've looked into SEP log, but I cannot find anything obvious of the cause of the problem. The log says Allowed for the IP of the vCenter, and nothing else is telling of the problem.

    Anyone has similar experience?

    Thank you.

I use all of the features: Virus and Spyware Protection, Proactive Threat Protection, Network Threat Protection. Is that what you mean?

How to disable the NTP feature?

Oh, NTP = Network Threat Protection aka Firewall?
I cannot disable it, it's against the company policy.

As for the log, as I mentioned, I cannot find anything obvious that causes the problem.

I can see that the traffic to the vCenter is allowed. I can authenticate to it, but timed out Loading Inventory.

Is there any "Whitelist" for certain program to bypass the firewall?
