When using the winuser and worker consoles in HelpDesk Solution V6.X, does it use LDAP to authenticate with Active Directory?  Does anyone know that if the domain controllers are upgraded to Windows 2008 R2 native mode, LDAP authentication may no longer work?

Windows 2008

Hi CMag,

HelpDesk solution uses the Notification Server to authenticate with Active Directory. I was able to find a couple of KB articles which touch on the topic of importing from a 2008 domain:

Hotfix 13 release notes: Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC2031

AD Connector update: Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC1963

Neither of the articles I found mentioned support for Windows 2008 R2 domains. If you are having difficulty importing from a 2k8 R2 domain, I would suggest trying the AD Connector update to see if it helps at all.

If the update doesn't work, would it be possible to see the logs from an unsuccessful AD Import?

Regards,

Rion
