  • 1.  LDAP authetication?

Okay so I'm a little confused.  I see that you can setup SEP for LDAP authetication, but I'm not quite sure how to do so.  I'd like to enable LDAP authentication without importing any OU infrastructures from AD.  Is this possible?  How would I do it?

For details and options on using LDAP, please see chapter 17 in the SEP Administration Guide -

So,do you want LDAP authentication only for SEPM Manager?

in SEPm -Admin-Servers- Local Site -<servername>-properties- Directory servers.
    add your LDAP credentials
then SEPm -Admin- Domains -Add domain

then SEPM -Admin -Administrators-Add Administrator- Authentication -Directory Authentication

Test it in your Test Env first.

It is possible to do LDAP authentication without importing AD
    - just follow Vikrams post.

Note the LDAP is against AD and that the LDAP credentials can be your own to test: latter, make sure you have a user account for SEPM (unless the AD allows anonymous bind).
Note also that the "username" is a long LDAP username, not your short domain\user or user type (make sure you know the format of your username in ldap)
for exampe, cn=My Name,ou=user,dc=company,dc=org (or something like that)
