LDAP Synchronisation fails to Scanners

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Although the LDAP sync is successful between LDAP (Active Directory on Win2k3) and Control Center, the replication to the scanner fails every single time after just a few seconds.
SBG is installed as a virtual appliance in a combined Control Center and Scanner role.

Any ideas why this happens?

Thank you!
Dries

Hi Dries,

we would need for you to provide more details about that problem in order to have a good answer (product version, configuration details and log entries). Otherwise I'd suggest you to open a support case.

KB on Scanner Synchronisation failure

Replication Failure on Symantec Mail Security Appliance

Basically do the following:

Look for the file ensure.log contains entries similar to the following:
[ 2007/12/05 18:37:38 ] 0xa5f00570 DataFlow | Migration failed
[ 2007/12/05 18:37:38 ] 0xa5f00570 DataFlow | Error:[error code] -7499
[std message] Transformation Function Error
[diag message] Orphaned alias entry found while processing: user@example.com

Then look for this alias in your AD and change or remove one of the duplicates. You might need to repeat this in case other duplicates are found.

Thanks to Symantec Tech Support!
