This has been working for months without issue, but I got a ticket today for a new user that's unable to receive e-mail (recipient validation is enabled.)

Found that LDAP synchronizes to the Controller just fine, but from the CC to the scanners the status is Failed.

Found a case referring to a failure code -7499 in the ensure.log.  I located ensure.log.5 and opened it but did not see any errors.

Is it normal for the log to have an addtional extension?  Any other ideas on what I should be looking for here?

What version are you on?  8.02 doesn't need sync to do recipient validation.

Note: Port 389 must be open inbound between scanner and LDAP source

In 9.0, you can use LDAP over SSL.

Recipient validation is much faster that Sync, since it is "live".   In 9.0, all sync goes away with the directory integration feature.

I noticed the last LDAP synch took almost 3 hours.  I was able to resolve it by forcing a Full LDAP Synch to the CC and they forcing a synch from the CC to the scanners.


Thanks again for the info on 9.0.  Is it final?  How long has it been available?  Are many users actually using it in production at this time?

Thanks for the info on 9.0, I will be looking into that in the future.

As I mentioned before, this is an existing setup that has been working for a while.   Recipient validation is setup correctly and working.  What is broken is the sync from the CC to the scanners.

Available for since 10 March.  They have been pushing notification out slowly to each site to make sure if there any issues they don't get burried.  Very stable so far.
