This issue has been solved. See solution.

I've heard rumors of some incompatabilities with various Lenovo hardware platforms and tools that Lenovo uses (from memory, I want to say disk recovery tools).  Can anyone confirm this?  Not sure why this is with Lenovo specifically, but I just seem to recall hearing that sometime in the last year.

Hi Blenky, Can you confirm

Hi Blenky,

Can you confirm which version you have for SEE? Also the best would be to read the release notes. There you have all the fixes/known issues mentioned there.

Talking about the disk

Talking about the disk recovery tools, SEE overwrites the MBR and relies on it heavily - especially for pre-boot authentication. As a rule of thumb, any software (be it a disc recovery tool or a Windows repair tool) that replaces the SEE MBR would render it corrupt and the machine would not be able to boot to the desktop.

Lenovo Rescue & Recovery

Is the primary tool of concern, and since it modifies the MBR it isn't supported in a SEE environment.  Other FDE products have certified their products to work with major tools such as Lenovo Rescue & Recovery but SEE is not one of them.   BESR is another option that is being evaluated but there are some issues with compatibility between those two Symantec products as well.

Blenky I am very sure that it

Blenky I am very sure that it should not cause any issue with the Lenovo's recovery tool that is so because Dell also provides a utility via which you can take the machines back to day one. With Dell SEE works fine ..... so I am hoping that it should also work on the lenovo machine ...... I haven't checked personally on the lenovo machines .... but Dell I am sure it works ....

I'd say to be on a safer side you can test ....
