Recently our Company has purchased a few Lenovo X1 laptops

We are pushing 10.1.1(Build 10) PGP SDK 4.0.1.

After PGP loads the machine restarts at the PGP Pre Boot window we get a distorted band of graphics and then it states initializing loader and sits there and will not finish booting into Windows 7.

This is a clean Image not a factory load in the past we disabled the Optimus function in the BIOS

However there is no option for that with the X1? Help…

May it be the problem described in this Knowledge Base Article?

What if you try going safe mode?

In that case I would suggest installing PGP 10.2 MP3 , the latest version, rencrypt if necesary.

If you need assitance to get this software, contact Customer care:

This really does sound like the known "Sandy Bridge" issue that Tom Mc referred to in his KB article link above. I would strongly suggest upgrading to 10.2 MP3 as Julian alluded to. This should resolve that problem if it's a chipset incompatiblity with PGP Desktop 10.1.1. If you are running windows 7 I would recommend being on PGP Desktop 10.2 or newer.

i will give this a shot again perhaps I should isolate this from the domain and install the client local and see what happens.
