I just noticed that one client who is running 22.1.25 now has a new started task:  AntimalwareMigrationTask

    It runs from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AV\Norton Internet Security\Upgrade.exe" with the following parameters: "/upgrade /user_logon"

The comment states: "Symantec Antimalware Protection Migration helper. Migrates user settings and license information during the Norton product and the Windows OS upgrades."

That's just great except this computer is located within a domain and will not be getting Windows 10 any time soon.

What troubles me deeply is that this task is set to run every 30 minutes.

Seriously, Symantec, what in heaven's name could require you to check EVERY 30 minutes for an update or a change to the OS?

What also concerns me is that this was simply piped down to the client without any notice to me, the partner, except for this rather vague statement in DOC8909: "In the near future, Symantec will push automatic updates to all SEP SBE computers."

I'm getting increasingly disturbed by this tendency of not announcing information regarding aspects of the product that is going to affect my client base. And more so, the lack of any ability to turn off unwanted components of the product.

If, and when, I upgrade any client computers to Windows 10, I'll make sure to download the latest software via LiveUpdate as I have in the past.

It seems in this new forum format I have lost the ability to edit my post.

The version should have been listed as 21.5.0.19
