License about to expire - SEP 12RU3

Our license for SEP 12 is going to expire at end of the month. What impact (if any) will the license have when expired? Is there a grace period, which features/downloads would continue/stop?

if its' enterprise it will soft enforcement

Soft Enforcement: SEP 12.1 Enterprise Edition

  •  Content update downloads continue from all the sources.
  •  UI changes and log notifications are started. 

you will get alerts, content update will continue

What type of UI changes and when does everything stop(how long is the soft enforcement). We are corporate enterprise.

On the SEPM home screen it would say your license is expired and it will start sending notification to the admin email address which was defined during the installation.

about te license expiry. Home screen will have the alert for the same.I would suggest to start talking to Symantec renewals team.

We did receive a temp trial license for 30 days - if we add this license what happens if the trail license expires? The customer is aware that a renewal needs to be done.

Trial License

A trial license allows the customer to evaluate the product.

Applicable to both Enterprise and Small Business Edition

Enterprise Edition is 60 days validity with no grace days

Small Business Edition is 30 days validity with 30 days grace.

Provides hard enforcement for both Enterprise and Small Business Edition versions

This is the only license that provides hard enforcement on Enterprise.

Unlimited node license.

Included in SEPM Server DVD layout, activated during server configuration on server machine.
