  • 1.  License expiration warning on workstations

I've recently installed licenses on our 12.1 SEPM. The trial license would have expired about 3-4 days later had I not done so. Now, we are getting calls from end users stating there is a license expiration warning on their workstations. I thought it might be that the computer had not recently conversed with SEPM, but for one of the calls we got today, we found out from the User that his computer was connected to the network the previous day and he did not receive such notice.

Can anyone assist in keeping these messages from popping up on workstations? It is affecting user productivity and causing unnecessary calls to our service desk.

    Thanks,

    Lawson in WV

    Hi,

Check this article, it sounds like the issue that you are experincing.

After installing Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 on a machine, you receive a warning that the trial license has expired even though the SEPM has an active non-trial license.

What are the end dates on the permanent licenses you just installed? Have the end dates reached expiration (Admin > Licenses)? Do you have any license files that have matching end dates and quantity, like from a box product registration?

Does SEPM say that licensing is ok and you have enough licenses for all of your client machines (Home > License Status > Licensing Details)?
