Hi Guys,
Can I use core license and windows and lotus agents of BE 2010 R2 to BE 2010 R3?
What about using BE 2010 R3 core license, deduplication option license and storage provisioning option to BE 2010 R2? I tried it, and I was able to add the core license and option licenses, but when I try to backup, its saying something like "client deduplication is enabled but I cannot use it" Is it due to license versions?
Regards

Hi there,
License keys between R2 and R3 are interchangeable. You can use R2 licenses with R3 with no hassles whatsoever.
Your error is referred to in the TN below:

If you're not using dedupe, then make sure you haven't inadvertantly selected the deduplication option for trial and targeted the backup job at a dedupe folder for whatever reason.
It has nothing to do with the licenses you carried over from R2.
Thanks!
