Licensing with EndPoint

Created: 08 Jan 2008 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 1 comment

Currently, we run Symantec Corporate Edition 10.0, which is managed by Symantec System Center Console and, recently, we renewed our licensing in the form of EndPoint 11.0.  However, we do not plan on migrating to 11.0 for a couple of months.  Is it possible to apply the 11.0 license file to 10.0, so that we maintain licensing compliance; or is having purchased the licenses enough to maintain compliance with 10.0 until we perform the upgrade?

Thank you.

From what i understand you do not currently wish to upgrade at this time but instead wish to maintain with the current Symantec Corporate Edition 10.0.

Having renewed your licences automatically entitles you to the Symantec endpoint protection upgrade, however this version of Symantec has no licence file manger their fore you shouldn’t have a licence file as such just a certificate.

Instead it is the responsibility of the user to maintain compliance by purchasing the necessary amount of licences to do so, from what I understand there is a downgraded licence file you can obtain from Symantec should you wish to stay with 10.0.

I would suggest contacting Symantec Technical Support Or Customer Services for further information.
