Hi,

I've question about licensing policy for SPS 3.0 EE regarding Brightmai Gateway and Web Gateway components. How many licences I need to protect 100 users who use only 50 mail accounts and only 50 from them use Internet connections via Web Gateway ?

It's hard to imagine anyone

It's hard to imagine anyone without an email inbox in an organization.  So if you have 100 users I would say 100 user license.  But since, I am not an expert in licensing, I would leave this question to the Product Managers to answer.  I think the best option would be to talk to your sales person/team.

Regards,

Adnan

You'll need a Ven diagram.  I

You'll need a Ven diagram.  I wouldn't assume the 50 e-mail users and the 50 web users are the same population.  So you need between 50 and 100 licenses.   I'm pretty sure that each product is licensed by "protected users".  But AdnanH is correct, the only way to know for sure is to ask your Sales rep.   We recently purchased a suite and we had to buy the # of license equal to the largest sub-compont user group.

AdnanH - we have thousands w/o mailboxes.  You don't need e-mail if you are not a knowledge worker.

You are right.  Thanks for

You are right.  Thanks for reminding me that knowledge workers whose primary tool is a computer forget that a lot of workers don't even have access to computers.
