  • 1.  Limited SEP Admin is unable to login

    Posted Feb 11, 2016 09:33 AM

When i create a limited admin in the SEP console it does not allow me to login with the user.  I keep getting "the administrators username or password is incorrect.  Please enter a correct username or password".

I have deleted the account and recreated with no luck.  if I create the same account with same username and password but as a systems admin it logs me in just fine.  But i only want to give the user read access so that some support people can view reports.

    Version: 12.1.6 (12.1 RU6 MP1)

Shouldn't really matter as limited admin just won't access to specific areas/policy. Not sure if it's a bug for that version though, would need to have a look back at the fix notes.

    Brian,

I just upgraded to version 12.1.6 MP3 (12.1.6608.6300) and im still having the same issue.

Im also noticing that if i try and access using the web console  (logged in as a full admin) i get certificate errors for Home, Monitors, and reports but Policies, clients and Admin all pullup fine.

Weve had sep for about 8 years and to be honest this is the first time anyone has asked for access other than me.  So i dont know if all of these features have never worked or this is just something buggy going on.

After selecting the Limited Administrator role did you add any additional rights? If you don't you will get an alert saying the account has been disabled.

I created a Limited Admin and gave it Reporting Rights and was able to successfully login. If I give it no rights, I cannot log in.

Stanley you would need to enter the domain name as well when you try to login to SEPM with the limited admin, did you enter the correct domain name in case you have more than one domain ?
