This issue has been solved. See solution.

hi,
On the main screen where it has the Security Status with the big green check box, when i click on details or preferences, i get an IE window open which just says loading and nothing happens.  None of the reports seem to work either?
I am running the latest version on Windows Server 2008 ENT.

Anyone know why that is?  Does it have to do with the security or firewall settings?

thanks!

Can you browse the reports page?

The SEPM console uses embedded IE for the reports and some of the other management components and as such these are pages that can be browsed to. Try pointing your browser at http://SEPM/reporting/login/login.php where SEPM is the name or ip address of your manager and try to login. My guess is you won't be able to see the login page so you'll need to do some firewall checks, etc. Try telnetting to the server (even if it's local) on port 80.

Re;

Are you accessing it remotely from a different computer? Please add the name on the trusted zone, and double check if you have the latest JRE.

Proxy and Java and ...

I agree with Paul and David.

Check these too:

1- If you are using Proxy server, exclude the SEPM server from the IE Lan connection on your computer.
2- Turn off the Enhanced Security option if you access from Win2003 (maybe!)
3- Check whether the java version is 1.5 (known as Java 5). Note that the Java 5 is ok, Java 6 works if it is update 7. so use the version 5 since it's easier to finalize!

Re

Ghafourian,

you dont need to turn off Enhanced Security option if you add the server/host to the trusted zone for IE 7. Better to leave it on and manually add trusted hosts on to the server/workstation.

I checked my version of java

I checked my version of java and used 6 update 7 and that didn't do anything.  Then i tried going to the reporting page via the IP address and got this:

IIS user credential

Check out if a proper user credential is set for connection to IIS.
Not that the user you set should have local administrative privileges.

Yes, IIS is configured. How

Yes, IIS is configured.
How do I check if the user has the right privileges?  I am logging on as the domain admin so i'm assuming it has enough rights.

I did try that, and then it

I did try that, and then it also asked me to turn off UAC, which I did.
for some reason when i log in to the console via the browser, it kicks me off after putting in the password.

Then, I tried using the regular program link, and then after this it worked for me, the reports were viewable!

thank you!!
