Links in Readme and/or License Dialogs
Updated: 22 May 2010 | 5 comments
Hi there,
I've never really made note of this in the past, but do links work from the Readme dialog after an .rtf file containing these links is imported into the dialog control?
QA seems to have noticed that they do not work, but I went several releases back and they don't work there either. The format of the file has recently changed, but going back several releases proves that the old format didn't function either.
Maybe there's a key combination that will cause them to be functional from the dialog???
Any information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

As per the SDK, the Text field of the Control table is a formatted data type so you can use properties to hold the text but embedded links are not supported, AFAIK.
Yes, I'm sure Bill is correct - the dialog control does not support embedded links.
Is this a licence dialog you are working with?

Is it that a big issue?

If it is possible for the user to select/mark the corresponding row (link) and then hit the CTRL+C combination and paste in a web browser I don't see the issue here.
To be honest, who does read this readme text anyway
Looks like the QA guys do, but I suspect they are the only culprits

I agree, they are probably the only ones that read this stuff.
I also agree that the links could be copied/pasted.
Just thought I'd check.
