I am looking fora way to monitor Linux operating systems with the monitor solution.

I have tried using ICMP and HTTP agentless metrics with no luck

Does anyone have a policy in which will send a email if a Linux system is unavaiable

At the very least the ICMP should offer you reporting and data.  It is a simple Ping command.  If that is not working, its likely a configuratin issue or network/setup.

Try cloning an existing policy that is working for the triggers you are looking for in Windows and try them on Linux.  Some will not work but some will.  ICMP does work the same for Windows and Linux.
