This issue has been solved. See solution.

I would like to setup a Repository on a Linux box locally so we can us YUM or other tools to rollout the Linux version of Symantec AntiVirus.  There doesn't seem to be very many post about this.

Is there any good documentation around?

Thanks,

Kris Turner

YUM

You can install FTP RPM on a box put the repository on that box.
Configure your YUM in the YUM.conf  file for the base URL point to to the FTP on that box

eg:
Edit yum.conf file
name=SAV Install
baseurl=ftp://10.x.x.x/SAV folder/SAVFL.rpm
gpgcheck=1

Then your clients can install it from the YUM

Here is another question.

Here is another question.  How do we manage Linux and MAC clients?  We don't have SAV 10 and are just deploying SEP11.  All I can find is management via SAV console from version 10?

11 not yet ready

SEP 11 is not yet ready for Non-Windows.But shortly SEP will be supported on Non-Windows OS like Linux/MAc may be even Netware.
But till date you can only install SAVFL ( SAV for Linux ) SAv for MAC or SAV for Netware.
And you cannot manage these from SEPM. So they have to be unmanaged.

EP 11 not supported..

EP 11 does not support Linux and Mac.

Please Install SAVFL ( SAV for Linux ) SAv for MAC or SAV for Netware.
