Linux PreBoot for DS 6.9 SP2
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I downloaded the Linux PreBoot frm file for DS 6.9 SP2. When I ran the installation it said it was an earlier version and not compatible. When I checked the file version itself, it appears to be the exact same file as DS 6.9 SP1 version.
Anybody else get this?
wrong file
Sounds like you grabbed the wrong frm file. What link did you download it from? Make sure you get the frm file for 6.9 SP2.
Download
I got it from the same page on Symantec website that I downloaded SP2
Missing piece
I tried installing using those files and I didn't get any message or problem, so there's some piece of the puzzle that's different. What is the exact size (in bytes) of the frm file you are using? The size should be 45,214,387 bytes. If you happened to get a corrupted frm file that is significantly smaller than this size you may get that error message.
Would you also please give more detail as to your setup... are you upgrading from a previous version; what OS, and configuration are you using; and any other detail you can offer.
Thanks,
Worked this time
When I installed it after the fact, it worked. Strange.
Thanks for your help.
problem with frm as well
I know this is an older post but if anyone comes across this and would like to help me out here, https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/rdeployt-usb-pull-windows-xpe-image-ds I'd really appreciate it! I've been pulling my hair out regarding the issue addressed in this post!
