  • 1.  linux symantec installation

    There are 2 linux server. I have no idea about linux operating system and only work on window base OS. I have a requirement to install the symantec endpoint on the linux server. Installation is similar as other operating system?

    running with symantec endpoint manager 12.1.4. will it be manage the linux?

    No,SEPM 12.1.4 can not manage linux,SEP 12.1.5 are first version which are manage linux.

    Symantec is work on linux operating system but your version is too old.

    latest version is SEPM 12.1 RU5. It is first version which manage Linux Client from SEPM.

    You need to move to 12.1.5 if you want linux clients to be managed.

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    SEP for Linux clients can now be managed by RU5 SEPM, or later. Configuration enhancements have been made to the SEPM to allow policy creation for managed Linux clients. This includes AV policy settings, centralized exceptions, and LiveUpdate settings. The SEPM also features enhanced reporting for Linux clients, including the SEP client version, host OS details, and hardware details.

    Latest version can be downloaded here

    But Linux clients cannot get updates from the default management server. For Linux clients, you must specify an internal or external LiveUpdate server.
