  • 1.  List of all the SEP 12 client processes

The KB doc cited just below is oriented toward ports, and while it lists some client processes, I would like to have a complete list of SEP processes. (SEPM would be welcome also.)

"Which Communications Ports does Symantec Endpoint Protection use?"  I AM NOT ADDING ALL THE JUNK YOU SEE HERE IN THIS POST AFTER THE URL. NOT THERE WHEN I SAVE THE POST.  Thank you

    Thanks

    Is this complete?

    Short name Long name
    SepMasterService ccSvcHst.exe  Symantec Endpoint Protection
    SmcService SMC.exe        Symantec Management Client
SNAC   snac.exe     Symantec Network Access Control

    Thanks

    Partly based on TECH162901

My question is, are the ones I listed ALL of the client processes.  I cited that KB doc in my question and noted that it is oriented to listing all of the ports. It is not presented as a list of all client processes.

    Thanks

as per the process for SEP 12.1 client, when you open the services.msc on the machine you will see all the above processes you mentioned present.

Services msc is not adequate as you can see if you look at the SEP 12.1 “Path to executable” under "Symantec Endpoint Protection” and you find Sms.dll.

    Some services are hidden.

The question is not, "Will I find all three of these processes on my questionable list running if SNAC is licensed?"  What about the ones that are not on my list?

The question is  "Authoritatively, what are ALL of the 12.1 client processes?"

The KB I cited does not purport to list all of the processes. We are an Enterprise and I am the admin who will know about SEP at my company. Since there is no KB doc for this, I asked here.

    Thanks
