Please try to run this command. This should stop sending that alert. The reason why you recieved those logs is because log being executed is currpopted.
1. Log in to the appliance via CLI (use putty) as an admin
2. Run the following command:
clear mallogs

NOTE: When upgrading a Symantec Mail Security Appliance, Symantec recommends you to update using the command line interface (CLI) so you can monitor the progress of the update.
Before performing any installation or upgrade, Symantec also recommends that you backup your data.
- To upgrade Symantec Mail Security Appliance:
1. (Optional but recommended) Purge items from Quarantine to reduce time for backup and migration.
2. (Optional but recommended) Purge reports to reduce time for backup and migration.
3. Backup Control Center data
4. Pause Mail Flow to the scanner.
5. For each Appliance which has a Scanner role, drain the queues before upgrading.
6. Stop the control center service
7. Upgrade all Appliance Scanners which have no Control Center functions.
8. Upgrade the Appliance with the Control Center role.
NOTE: Before deleting all quarantine items, release any items that you do not wish to permanently delete. Before deleting report data, run your desired reports and keep the data.
- To delete all Quarantine items
In the Control Center, click Quarantine
Click Delete All
- To clear all Report information
In the Control Center, click settings, Reports
Click Clear All
- To backup Control Center data using the CLI
Connect a monitor and keyboard to the appliance, or use an ssh client to connect to port 22 of the Appliance.
Login as admin
Open a command line and type:
db-backup
This command stores a backup copy of the database on the Appliance.
NOTE: You can also use db-backup to copy the backup file to an FTP/SCP server.
- To backup Control Center data using the Control Center
In the Control Center, click Administration > Backup.
Click on the Administration tab
Click Backup Now
You will have the option to store the backup on the appliance and also remotely using FTP, this provides an additional backup copy if you need to restore the Symantec Mail Security 8200 Series appliance from the restore CD.
- To pause mail flow to the scanner
Login to the appliance as admin using either a keyboard/monitor or an SSH session.
Type each of the following commands and press Enter.
pause-mode reject
NOTE: The above command will "Accept mail but do not scan it yet; hold it in the inbound/outbound queue".
- To stop the Control Center service
Login to the appliance as admin using either a keyboard/monitor or an SSH session.
At the command line type:
service controlcenter stop
This will stop the Control Center service.
- To download & install the software update for the latest software version
Login to the appliance as admin using either a keyboard/monitor or an SSH session.
At the command line type:
update download
The previous command will download the latest version & save it on the local repository. Wait till the download completes & the prompt sign appears. Then type:
update install
(Note: you can use the command “update install” directly, it will download the latest version then install it straight away without any user intervention)
- To watch the update log, log into the appliance’ CLI being upgraded as the admin user and type “watch update.log” (without the quotes).
- After the software install completes, restart the operating system of the Appliance.
- To restore mail flow to the scanner
Login to the appliance as admin using either a keyboard/monitor or an SSH session.
Type each of the following commands and press Enter.
pause-mode normal
- Test the appliance and make sure everything works correctly.
