Live update

Created: 17 Apr 2012 • Updated: 17 Apr 2012 | 1 comment

I'm performing Live update on the CCS ESM console

When I select the first option it updates pefectly in contrary of the second which is VA module.

Kindly asking to clarify these questions:

-What is "VA"?

-What kind of license do I have to insert to make the downloading possible?

-After ESM Content Update done, could these changes go to the ESM server? How can I check it?

- After downloading all updates I found in Log file this line:
-> Successfully deleted the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads\ from the cache.

But some files left. Is it a kind of error? If no, and I want to update all consoles do I have to download this stuff again?

Thank you in advance

VA stand for "Vulnerability Assement" module.

It is the part of ESM that was able to do Network Scanning to check devices like routers for compliance.

I am not sure if this is still supported in latest version of ESM, this was included last in version 6.5.3 I believe.

You need a different license for the VA module, a separate slf file.
