    Hello Srikant,

Do you have a firewall? in the log its showing http 404 file not found.

are you able to download all three files

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH139451

    Any proxy?

open liveupdate on the control pannel set the proxy and make it to interactive

    start

    run

    luall.exe

select only AV udpates ( small ones ) check if that completes

    let us know the results

Thats downloaded so whats the issue? :)

that means no issues with proxy /firewall / downloading

now run the lucatlog -cleanup and update as per this document

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH103112

delete old liveupdate log . run liveudpate inside SEPM.

if it failes post the liveudpate log and screen shot of liveudpate downloads of SEPM.

    Hi,

    Please confirm the below points

    1.       Weather enough space is there on your DB(aka on SEM5 data base, by default it can grow up to 20 GB)

    2.       Any corrupted virus definitions can cause this issue, clear the corrupted definitions and run LUALL.exe.

    3.       Have you checked the definition folders are created on the associated locations?

    Regards

    Ajin

    Hi All,

i logged as case with symantec technical support and while troubleshooting we found that sem5 DB in sql server is shown with maximum growth of only 100 MB due to that definitions are not updated

once we changed the DB growth size to unrestricted growth and once run the live update it updated.

Hi @ajin, urs 1st point is the main reason for live update failure.

my previously reported issues of liveupdate is also due to this only, but i didnt got that.

Thanks to technical support for solving this issue permanently
