Livestate Delivery : HP portable problem only.

I got a problem when building HP Portable 6530b with livestate 6.0.1.
When the pc needs a reboot while installing (like FAT32 to NTFS conversion in windows xp installation) it gets stuck and needs a manual reboot to continue installation after.
This is for every required reboot...
HP Desktops or our dell products don't have this problem.

I updated the server with LS 6.0.1 service pack 3
I tried UDP pre-os agents 60_01, 03, 04
Also tried livestate agents 7.1.1, 7.1.4 and 7.1.6 (latest)

I have no idea where to search for this problem.
I can't see any errors in the message and error logs, nor in the agent log. 

I know Livestate isn't supported anymore but still..
My Altiris trainings are scheduled but meanwhile I have to work with this old girl.

It sounds like you are doing an unattended install of the OS.  If i am wrong please correct me.  Based on your problem, it sounds like the issue has nothing to do with your deployment tool, and more to do with the PC itself.  I don't have much experience with LiveState but do have significant experience with it's predecessor (CCM / iCommand).  My experience tells me that the tool kicks of the unattended install then lets Microsoft take over until Windows is fully built.  Have you tried updating the BIOS or talking to HP?  I think that you'll find the problem lies there.

What KrisH said is mandatory in every deployment tool..  never give a way the control on a reboot...  Not in OS installations, Apps instalations or what ever.
Always script/program it so you stay in absolute control of this.

Depending on the scripts you are using, you can build your own log files using plain dos ECHO to see which part of the script is exactly failing you.
I am also not sure it is a Livestate issue.  I recall Dell also had such an issue with one model a few years ago.  Dell also had one model that did not go for WOL/PXE.
Indeed have a look to the bios level or ask HP about this and look for the HP machine in the Altiris fora.

I've asked when a new portable would arrive to do tests on.
Hopefuly It's just a bios update or so.
