Hello all. Not sure where to post about LUA so I don't mind at all if thread is moved or if someone educates me on support protocol (only spoke with Symantec Support regarding BackupExec in the past).
I updated recently to v2.3.0.71 (IIRC), enabled Debug Mode and set conditions to Informational.
We have had a major issue recently of LUA perpetually-downloading updates, when running v2.2.x.x and saw many articles talking about v2.3 saving the day. Well, it's been a positive step forward, but we're still looking for some joy.
Current issue: Download schedule set to daily at 12:00am. It occurs as scheduled, logged as scheduled but fails. Why? I have no idea. Download completed 99%, with some various files skipped. Why were they skipped? Are they important files to me? I don't know, all the log says from what I can see is it failed. Knuckleheads like me need something more self-explanatory.
So I assume the retries are working. But they're not logged. Why not? I don't have much low-level network traffic tools, but I DO know 100% of our download pipe is saturated by the server LUA resides on - and if I choke that server 100% of our download pipe is available. So even though I don't know if the retries are working, I'm pretty sure LUA is still looping on these downloads.
Additionally I had Retries set to 3. Initial Download Schedule lasted 1 hour. Yet from 8:00am-10:00am this morning (Saturday, I'm lone soul at the office) the download pipe was still saturating, and as expected shutting down the LUA server freed up the pipe.
So basically LUA is stuck in some sort of loop over a failed download. But my logs don't seem to express why and they certainly do not mention anything about the retries. We don't have hardly any bandwidth where I work so LUA is killing us.
