Endpoint Protection

 It keeps telling me my password is incorrect.
I cant seem to use the forget password options, because then it tells me e-mail server isnt configured.

At install, i kept the passwords of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and the LiveUpdate Manager the same.
But now they dont seem to work.

How can i fix this?

been looking arround alittlebit in the folders. 
found pg_dumpall.exe

gave me this output:

C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate Administrator\pgsql\bin>pg_dumpall
pg_dumpall: could not connect to database "template1": FATAL: role "administra
or" does not exist

you may need to call Tech support for help.

There seems to be some tweaking done or you may need to reinstall :-(.

Hi,

To run the LiveUpdate Administrator
Do one of the following:
Click Start> Programs> Symantec LiveUpdate Administrator> LiveUpdate Administrator 2.1.
Double-click the LiveUpdate Administrator 2.1 icon on the desktop.
On the Symantec LiveUpdate Administrator 2.1 window, enter your user name and password and click Log On.

Note: If you forget your password, you can request that a temporary password be sent to the email address that you specified during installation. Use this temporary password to sign in to LiveUpdate Administrator. After you sign in, you will be prompted to reset your password. For security, the temporary password is valid only for a limited time.

 Can i reinstall LUA without any loss in SEP ?
So i wont lose the clients that are listed?

Can you post screenshot while logging in to SEP console?

Sorry, got confused, I though your having problems with the sepm console., my apologies. Can you try to reinstall? What version of LUA are you using?

Did not get though, are you referring that policy/configuration of LUA, if we reinstall you need to do settings again, distriubution server, scheduled timing.

So i wont lose the clients that are listed?
Clients are never listed here, the client will have policy based on LU settings in SEPM for the group.

-edit2- doh, remebered i had downloaded latest version when installing for the 1st time, so i have it on hdd. Installing now

installed it, then used the repair option!

I get this same issue on LUA 2.2.1.13. During the install I select an admin name and password and upon the completion of the install I can not log in with those credentials. Is there a password policy that I am not complying with? I am using 12 characters with at least two non letter/numbers...seems odd.

I am re-installing for the third time on a brand new Windows 2K8 32 bit server.

I selected a simple password during install and then changed the password after initial login to desired password. There is something about password complexity that may be missing from setup instructions beyond the 8 chara minimum...

I have the same problem with LUA 2.2.1.13. I cannot login after the install. Even with complex password. The setup completes ok and the I cannot connect.
