    HI ,

I have few issues  where I can use some help .

    1. My LUA Version 2.2.2.9 is installed on C Drive and is using a lot of space there .Maximum space is used by clu-prod which is obvious but there is another directory called TempDownload which is taking lot of space .This directory is not specified any where but it is still being used by LUA whenever I update catalog as well as other distribution tasks occur .I have added an extra partition to my Server and now want to move it to that location .How can I do it .
    2. How can I get list of all the clients that contact my LUA  to get Updates .I want to know what time they conneted and were they able to download successfully or not
    3. Is there a way to integrate LUA with SSIM 4.7 so that I can get the logs on my SSIM .
    4. Can I add a remote Server as Distribution Center or it has to be a Local location .

    Hi Subhani,

"Thumbs up" to Pete's excellent advice.

    I can share one trick:

    1. How can I get list of all the clients that contact my LUA  to get Updates .I want to know what time they conneted and were they able to download successfully or not

There is no such functionality built into LUA at present, as a single LUA server can have up to one hundred Distribution Centers on different servers across the network.  Trying to gather, combine and report usage data on all of them would be a major undertaking.

If you would like to see such a feature (even if it is limited just to keeping track of the default clu-prod DC, then please do visit the following Enhancement Request "Ideas" and vote "thumbs up" -

If you would like to generate this information NOW, then I recommend creating a new HTTP or FTP Distribution Center on an IIS server in your network.  Configure this site to enable logging.  After a few days there should be IIS logs in the Windows\System32\logs directory that show the traffic.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks to Pete and Mick .

1.I used Pete Advised and changed the LUA Default folder to E Drive .This is what I was looking for .

    2. Regarding the clients ,I thought the same that I should use an HTTP Server to get these records .

Now I have a tricky question and I need advised from both of you .What should I do If I want to use my existing Clu-Prod directory but with IIS instead of Apache . The Steps that I have in mind are

    Install IIS HTTP Server

Define Clu-Prod as its home directory  (If I add a new distributed repository HTTP on the same server  than there will be duplicated data)

Publish the link via SEP Manager ( LUA will not know about it)

LUA will keep distributing  updates to clu-prod  as configured but clients will follow a different URL to get Updates (This URL will be taken by them from SEP Manager) .

Plese suggest or let me know if there is some mistake in my approach.

    Hi Subhani,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Why not just create a new IIS DC and configure LUA 2.x to distribute contents to it?  Configure the SEPM's LU policy to direct clients toward the path to this IIS DC, no matter what its name.  It should work fine.

If I configured teh HTTP Repository on the same Server than there will be data duplication .As per my understanding ,Clu-Prod will still be there as default distribution center .

yep, you can use the clu-prod as the http repository. LIke in IIS it would be http://x.x.x.x/clu-prod

    Hi Subhani,

There is nothing to stop you from reconfiguring clu-prod to use the IIS location.  Or, just to disable clu-prod and use any IIS http or ftp share. LUA is quite flexible.

Please do update the forum if with news about what you have decided to do, and how you configured it!

    All the best,

    Mick
