  • 1.  Liveupdate Administrator options on SAV CE v10

I am using Luadmin v1.5.4 on a SAV CE v10.1.8 server to download defs for 64 bit clients.  These defs are stored in a single shared folder as defined in Luadmin.

I am about to add a new secondary server in a remote office to supply defs to the clients in that location.  Unfortunately this new server cannot have Internet access, so I can't use Luadmin on that server to download 64 bit defs.

I think I therefore have two options to get 64 bit defs into a folder on this new secondary:

    1.  Install Luadmin on another central server, and use Luadmin to copy the defs across the WAN to the remote secondary.

    2. Use a copy job to copy the defs which are already downloaded centrally to a folder on the remote secondary.  I don't like this one much because I suspect I risk open files not being copied.

So is option 1 better, or is there a way to configure Luadmin to store downloads in more than one folder?

yes, but only 32 bit defs via VDTM.  64 bit defs can't use VDTM so I have to use Luadmin and shared folders instead (as far as I know)
