Endpoint Protection

Hi Guys,

Just a quick query. 

After installing SEP v12.1 on a machine. When we run Liveupdate. Where does the initial definition gets downloaded?

It is being processed in Binhub. 

But where does it actually gets downloaded?

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.xxx.xxx\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs

It gets downloaded to a temp directory to be decompressed then moved into the actual directory of:

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\<version>\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs

Brian - Thats where it gets installed. 

Eg: C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.4013.4013.105\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs

20141216.032 - Definition Folder Installed on the machine

BinHub - Where it gets processed

newdefs-trigger - Triggers LU

TextHub - Blank

But there is no folder where it gets downloaded. When you click Live update button these folders will not have download content. 

Eg: When it is live update dowload even at 75% these folders are blank.

Only after 100% download during processing - Binhub gets the contents where it initiates purging process with existing definitions.

So my question is where does that 100% download goes on???

Found it - it gets downloaded in a temp folder in C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.4013.4013.105\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs

where the folder disappears when processed.
