What's the cause for below error?Full log please refer to attachment

OS:Win Server 2003 x86

It may be related to the known issue fixed in 12.1 RU2 MP1:

LiveUpdate is unable to decompress the virus definition updates despite ample room on the system
Fix ID: 2847004
Symptom: Symantec Endpoint Protection client will run LiveUpdate and successfully download updated content, but occasionally cannot apply the updates.  “Decompression failed for package…” errors appear in the lue.log files.
Solution: The updated LiveUpdate Express included in RU2 MP1 updates the decompression process to use less memory, which allows the extraction to occur.

It seems to be the known defec that may happens on XP/2003 OS and fixed in SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1.

Most of the time it's happening with Unmanaged clients but may occur in some specific situation with managed clients as well.

Try to upgrade your SEP client to SEP 12.1 RU2 on your Windows Server 2003 SymQNA wink

@SymQNA: If you wish to ensure first it's really corresponding to this known issue fixed on RU2 MP1, just run a SymHelp tool or look on your Windows Server 2003 Server for the "Log.LiveUpdate" file or "Log.Lue".

Open it with notepad or notepad++. Search for the error message you get related to unable to extract/to decompress. If you see some error code 500 or 502, 503. It's matching completely with this known issue so upgrade your client to SEP 12.1 RU2 MP and you will get rid of this cool
