    Hi!

We use Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.
The home-site show me the information:

          Windows Definitions:
          Latest from Symantec: 14.02.2012 r36
          Latest on Manager: 09.01.2012 r2

When i tray the LiveUpdate I get the following output:

The system can connect to the internet.

    What can I do? Thx

No proxy used and no internet used on this machine only option is download .jdb file on a usb and put it to sepm folder . Sepm should get up dated .

File jdb file in link below

    http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=savce

and article how to update it

Check the proxy setting on Server..

    For the same

    Go to SEPM Console

    Admin Tab

    In Admin select Servers Tab

In server, Select the Local Site(My Site)

Edit the proper of your Server in it.

One screen will be display, Go to Proxy Server Tab.

There two blog display(HTTP Proxy Setting & FTP  Proxy Setting)

Select the "Donot use a Proxy" in both and Ok.

    Then try the LUAL Command.

    Hope it will help you

You most likely need to cleanup your liveupdate product catalog. I would recommend the following steps.

    1. Click Start, then Run.
    2. Type cmd , click OK.
    3. At the command prompt type CD and the path to lucatalog.exe. By default the command would be:
      cd C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin
    4. Type lucatalog -cleanup
    5. Type lucatalog -update
    6. Run Live Update

First uninstall Liveupdate and then go to CMD and type the following command:-

    Drive:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin lucatalog -cleanup

Then re-install Liveupdate and type the following command:-

    Drive:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin lucatalog -update.

    Please do the following

Re-register the SEPM with LiveUpdate, follow the steps below:

    1. Open a command window, then browse to:
      C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin
    2. Type lucatalog -update and press Enter.
    3. Run LiveUpdate to verify that there are no errors.

For Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1, follow the steps below:

    1. Open a command window, then browse to:
      C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin
    2. Type lucatalog -cleanup and press Enter.
    3. Type lucatalog -forcedupdate and press Enter.
    4. Run LiveUpdate to verify that there are no errors.

If the error persists, examine Log.LiveUpdate for more detailed information or error codes.

Mark as a solution if it works.........

    Hi Rasext,

Does that SEPM retrieve its updates from the Interenet LiveUpdate servers, or have you set up an internal LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x server?

If that LUA 2.x server is configured incorrectly, the SEPM may very well be checking in with it and finding no new updates available.

If the product list had not been selected, it would not show in the screenshot that they are up to date.

That leaves the source server. Where are you trying to get the updates from? Can you see connectivity to liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com?

    Thank you for the answers!

@ Swapnil: The pc can connect to the internet without proxy problem-free.

@ sumitgupta786: Yes, the proxy is disabled in the server-settings.

    @ Cameron_W: Your howto doesn't help. Sorry.

@ Simpson Homer: I have reinstalled the liveupdate and run the commands, also no better function. The update found no new files, so the date was still 09.01.2012 :-/

@ SameerU: Also no effect! :-( no new update-files found.

@ Mick2009: I use the normal LiveUpdate, not the admin-tool.

@ Ian_C: The default-server is set in the properties. The liveupdate did not show the name of the server :-(

    ##########

    News:
After the failed attempts I reinstalled the SEPN incl. Liveupdate. The first update was successfull but again only with the definitons from 09.01.2012. :-( wtf! :-(
I tried to update the latest definitions manually (http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=savce) -> vd38a610.jdb able. After some restarts, refresh-actions and failed updates the SEPN is suddenly up to date => 20.02.2012.
Now I will hope SEPN can update new definitions tomorrow automaticly.

But, is there any log with some more informations??  I found nothing :-(

    Thank you!

Unfortunately not because the latest definitions from Symantec 20.02. and on my manager only 19.02. (19.02. -> copy jdb-file by manually)
