Liveupdate From Internalserver

    Hi,

    we are having symantec server in our branch locations. previously definitions in the server will be downloaded directly from internet. Now we want to push the definitions from our server to there. How to do that?

    Hi,

    I tried giving My SEP manager IP but showing error. I disabled Proxy also.

    Can you share error screen shot ?

    Following port are uses in LUA

    By default, the following ports are used by Symantec LiveUpdate Administrator:

     

    Application

    Port

    Tomcat

    7070

    Tomcat shutdown

    7071

    PostgreSQL Database

    7072

    do you want LUA facing internet to download definition and then internal LUA to download the definition from the external LUA ?

    SEPM server to download from LUA?

    what is the error message?

    did you check the LU logs?

    Hi Srikanth,

    What you are proposing is supported, but you should know that having a SEPM download updates directly from the Internet and distribute contents to its managed clients is going to be more efficient / less network traffic than having SEP clients download what they need from the LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x server.  The LUA 2.x mirrors what is on the internet LU servers: it will download some full packages, hub definition sets etc that may not be needed by any SEPMs in your environment.

    If there are any errors on the SEPM, please examine its log.liveupdate.  The will reveal the cause of failure.

    if its for 2008 server the location is C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate

    Ya Mick i suggested that option only..but the branch administrators are not accepting this.
