    Hi everyone

    In the new endpoint release I have a problem with some installed clients, some of them are servers. It appears to do the liveupdate, no error messages and definitions don't show new dates, also some times it takes a long time to run and at the end, keeps the same defs.

    Anyone has the same experience?

    Hi,

    As you mentioned about the liveupdate running successfully but not updating the definitions, kindly take any one machine for testing purpose.
    • Go to control panel.
    • Locate symantec liveupdate.
    • Under general tab you would find two entries Express mode and Interactive mode.
    • Change it to interactive mode.
    • Under Error Support level change it to enhanced.
    • Launch Luall.exe from Start --> Run.
    • You need to folow the  wizard to download the liveupdate.
    • On the first step the product would be listed.
    • If the all products are llisted follow the wizard and you will be able to find the error at what point it is failing.
    If the symantec endpoint protection clients are managed then the situation would be different.

    Thanks,

    Nirav Mistry

    Yes as NIrav mentioned the steps should give us a LU xxxx error which might help us understand the exact issue with Liveupdate

    My test PC gives no errors with this interactive setting, thinks all modules are up-to-date.  Only Proactive is current, while AV-AS is 11-20-2008 and Network Protect is 11-7-2007.  I will try the other PCs in the group to see if they duplicate the problem.
