If I want clients by default to use GUP, but also allow a client to manually launch LiveUpdate to go to internet for defintions is this possible if i do:

Check Use the default management  server (recommended)
    Check Use A LiveUpdate Server
Check Use a Group Update Provider

    Advanced Settings:
Allow the user to manually launch LiveUpdate.

    Thanks,

    yes thats correct
now client , will use SEPM for liveupdate, GUP for liveudpate, and they have schedule for liveupdate too.

If you want your clients to use GUP  ---------------> then you need to check Management server too
If you want to have Liveupdate internet -----------> then you need to check use symantec liveupdate.
By this you checked all the three options, they wont miss a definitions for sure

Thanks for the reponse. What order wil be used first though? I want the clients to be able to use GUP first before using internet bandwidth.

    Thanks,

When clients communicate with manager they will take updates from it.
if a client is made GUP the manager will direct the clients to get it from GUP

In your said setup first priority is for GUP 2nd priority for manager and third priority for live update server.
If you launch manually liveupdate(liveupdate button) it will go to Internet for updating..
