sep 12 SEPM can MANAGAE SEP 11.0.6 clients

but SEPM 11 cannot manage SEP 12.1 clients, coz lot of things are changed in SEP 12.1..

lot of things wrt to liveudpate are changed, the Luall.exe is now SEPLiveupdate.exe

    Hi,

As new Live Update Engine (LUE) content management technology is introduced with SEP 12.1, Live update is integrated with SEP 12.1.

LUE is a new feature introduced into Enterprise products with Amber (Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1) in 2011. In SEP 12.1 clients, LUE replaces the traditional Windows Live Update (WLU) processes, files, directories and so on that were used in SAV and SEP 11.

Running Live Update for SEP 12.1 will update only SEP materials. It will not also download updates for all the other Symantec products on the computer, as SEP 11 did.

NOTE - The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) still uses a Windows LiveUpdate client to download its materials from internet LiveUpdate servers (or from an internal LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x server). The SEPM with a SEP 12.1 client will have both the WLU files (LuAll.exe, LuComServer_3_3.exe, LuCallbackProxy.exe, LuConfig.exe) and LUE libraries (LuEng.dll, LuSvc.dll, LuCtl.dll, LuSub.dll).

    thank you very much.

You tell me how it works then liveupdate SEP 12, as for example the version 11 I ran the command Luall.exe and start to download the definitions, now with version 12 and would then.

    Hello,

I would suggest you to check this Thread.

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/question-about-content-updates-sep12x

Here, Paul Murgatroyd explains on Liveupdate.

As far as Windows 7 goes, I would request you to Check the User Account Control and Turn it off and Restart the machine, that should resolve the issue.

I wouldn't recommend turning UAC off and keeping it off. UAC is a valuable security feature. You may need to adjust the security level but I wouldn't turn it off completely.
