    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

By default, LiveUpdate runs in Express Mode.  In interactive mode you select the updates you want to install. In Express mode liveupdate downloads and installs all available Symantec updates automatically

In case if liveupdate is failing & you wish to perform more check then can run liveupdate manually by selecting 'Interactive mode'. It also gives you greater control over which updates are installed at what time.

Start interactive mode go to Start --> Run --> (Type) luall

Interactive allows you to manually run it (selecting Next, next, next type of scenario) while express mode runs in the background without you needing to do anything.

    Hello,

A valid subscription is required to use Symantec LiveUpdate.

Symantec LiveUpdate can be run in Interactive Mode or in Express Mode.

In Interactive mode, users decide which updates to download and apply.

Express mode will download and apply all applicable updates.

LiveUpdate also runs in Express mode silently in the background.

Once all updates are downloaded, Symantec LiveUpdate will begin the process of installing them. If a restart is required, LiveUpdate will notify the user. Users can restart within the LiveUpdate interface.

Currently the problem I'm facing is my scheduled liveupdate is downloading all virus definition except 32 & 64 bit virus definition.

What could be the reson for such behaviour of liveupdate??

    Hi,

Is it happening after upgrade to 12.1 RU5?

After upgrading SEPM to 12.1 RU5, 32-bit virus definitions do not update

    Fix ID: 3671931

Symptom: After a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager upgrade to 12.1 RU5, the 32-bit Virus and Spyware definitions are not up to date.

Solution: Gave the semsrv and semwebsrv accounts full access to the LiveUpdate symcData folder.

    OR

Download .jdb files to update definitions for Endpoint Protection Manager

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102607

After SEPM manual update, next liveupdate schedule should update all the defintions without any issue.
