  • 1.  LiveUpdate stopped finding updates

    All machines running Symantec Antivirus 8.01 Corp can no longer get updates from Update server.

    As of 10/18/2010 the My Parent server stopped retrieving updates from Symantec Update Server.

    If I point my clients to update from the liveupdate site, they no longer find any updates either.

    I've verified products were selected and SymAll Languages as well as english and US english were checked.

     

    If I update manually with the update executable from the update servers clients will update, but when it's done on the server, it reverts back to 10/18/2010 rev.2

    Any help would be appreciated.  Did Symantec just stop providing the ability for ver 8 to get updates?

    Symantec din't intentional stop updating 8.x however it will not get updated.

    8.x is more than 8 yrs old product which even symantec has forgot long time back.

    Its a known issue and it will not be fixed.

    Migrate to SEP 11.x or SEP 12.x

    as SAV 8,9,10 has all reached END of Life/Support from Symantec

    Symantec Antivirus 8.01 is no longer supported and definitions are no longer available for that product.  The latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection is 11.0.6200.
