Loading Media - Job Fails

Created: 08 Apr 2011 | 5 comments

Little bit of background, I had to reboot our server which has BE 10D on due to a UPS problem. It lost the drivers for the Quantum Superloader 3 that was attached so I dowloaded of the BE website (backupexectapedevicedriverinstall20061015_285593) and had to run this twice to get the drivers to install.

After this all seemed fine and the device is showing correctly in the devices tab, however if I try to run a job however small or big it says "Loading Media" and thats it, it will just sit there and not do anything. If I try to run an Inventory this will also just sit there and not run. If I wish to cancel a job it will hang with "Cancel Pending" and I have to restart the services.

Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?

I've checked the SCSI ID and this is 5 on both the loader and in BE so that seems correct and if I change it BE can no longer see the device as online. Also I can run an inventory on the device without problem and other commands work as expected so I don't believe this to be a fault with the device but maybe a config problem with BE after a reboot.

Thanks very much in advance.

Windows server 2003 with BE 10.1 Rev 5629 SP4

Hi This was running, I've now stopped and disabled.

Restarted BE services.

I have run the job again but I'm getting the same results.

The interesting thing being that if I run an initializing job this job will run without a problem.
