Local IDP

Is it possible to use local IDP to authenticate apps with web clip client?  I've attempted to do so and when I open the app, it shows a black screen and then goes into background mode.

You should be able to authenticate to a local IdP from a web clip.

Can you please provide some more info? What version of iOS and what version of App Ceter are you using?

Thank you for your reply.  It has been tested on IOS6 and 7.  Same results.  App Center version 4.30.1-7.

I thought it might have something to do with Deveice Policies so I created on which enabled App Management.  But nothing changed.  Still the same problem.

If I set user authentication to not required in the app policy, the app opens fine.

Hmm... that's interesting. You should not be able to deliver wrapped apps using web clip, only unwrapped apps, i.e. apps without any policy applied can be delivered. Can you confirm the app displays the check mark on the app in the admin console?

Yes, it displays the check mark.  I've tried with two apps.  One developed using Adobe DPS and another developed using XCode.  Same result.

Hello,

App-wrapping is not formally supported using the iOS Web Clip. Please see the "App Center App features by device" table in the Administration Guide document. Sometimes wrapped apps will work with the iOS Web Clip, but I'm not surprised authentication is causing issues.

Regards,

Andrew

Seems like a behaviour if you dont allow jail-broken or rooted devices and the device is rooted/jailbroken. Just wondering if you may have overlook. Hope you get your issue solve :)
