first time we setup GSS 2.5 we used a laptop to restore to workstation and it went ok. created a thumdrive insert it in the workstation use ghost casting multicast option type in the session name - use automatic. on the laptop we simply launch ghost cast server type session name and the path were the image is located. once client is discovered just click sent and it all completed the operation. now that the GSS 2.5 is installed on the LAN and the server is under the domain, when we did the same procedure using thumb drive we encountered time out error 19922. what seems to be the problem? can you pls help me. much appreciated. thanks

Hi,
Probably it is nothing to do with the domain, but when do you get the timeout? Is it while looking for the session name or when trying to start the transfer? Could you try using unicasting if you are using multicasting?

Just to understand what
Just to understand what you're asking - if you boot your laptop via USB flash disk and your Ghostcast server is *not* in a domain, it works fine. You boot the same laptop using the same USB flash disk and your GCS is in a domain, then you get the 19922 timeout error?
I'm not familiar w/that error code, but as Krish asked, if you could tell us at exactly what step you get this timeout error.
Also, try taking your GCS computer out of the domain (back into a normal workgroup) and see if it works. If so, then chances are, there's a GPO somewhere for your Domain that's interfering with GCS. You may need to open up firewall ports on your GCS computer for the Console, the Ghostcast Server, and/or the Win32 Configuration Server. I forget exactly which you need (I set an Exception for all three Programs in my Windows Firewall.) A quick easy check would be to disable the firewall on your GCS computer and try. If it works, re-enable the Windows Firewall and try again. If it fails, you know it's the firewall and you can set the appropriate exceptions either at the domain gpo level or the local host level, if the gpo allows a local override.
I don't know how much of this applies to GSS2.5 (I'm still not on that version.)
Good luck,
PH
