  • 1.  Locations not populating in SMP 7.1

    Dear All,

     

    Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

     

    I have inventoried my computers and they have IP Addresses.

    I have set up the Locations and associated subnets.

    I have switched on and run the "Update Network Resource Location" and "Update Organizational Hierarchy" Tasks.

    Have I missed something or is this a bug in SMP 7.1?

    I have been able to verify that Update Network Resource Location doesn't appear to be working - I have logged a defect for this.

    If you have access to SQL Management Studio, running this stored procedure manually worked for me...

     

    'exec spUpdateAssetLocationUsingSubnetLocation'

    Thanks for the workaround. Do you know when this will be fixed? I am finding LOTS of bugs in 7.1 - so much so that I am thinking of nicknaming it "Bunny".

    I don't have a firm date yet as to when this will be resolved in the product.

    After further investigation, we have identified the issue.  When selecting a filter to include, if you choose 'All Computers', you may actually be selecting the filter that is not populated with any computer resources.  To work around this, select both 'All Computers' filters that show up in the list.  Only one of these is supposed to be visible so that is what we are looking to fix.  Once you select a filter that actually has computer resources in it, the task works great...:-)

    Since the Organizational Hierarchy task uses this Network Resource Location task it should automatically fix that as well...
