Log entries while fail over of interface in VCS

Created: 16 Jun 2013 • Updated: 08 Jul 2013 | 2 comments

Hi Experts,

I have 1+1 cluster configuration with VCS. I have enabled interface redundency using veritas in each blade using below commands in main.cf

Device @ABCD-1 = { hxge0 = "10.xx.xx.xx", hxge1 = "10.xx.xx.xx" }
Device @ABCD-2 = { hxge0 = "10.xx.xx.xx", hxge1 = "10.xx.xx.xx" }

My question is, if system is running on primary interface say hxge0 in above case. if during that time hxge1 interface fails, will veritas/unix log this thing anywhere in system or any process will change which was running earlier for hxge1.

I know if hxge0 interface will down it will log for hxge0 in engine logs , but what about other interface which is not in use.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Is this related to IPMultiNIC resource ?

in general, any changes will be logged in the respective agent's log file. some critical messages will be logged into engine_A.log file.

Little more details on the definition will help to provide correct answer

Thanks and Warm Regards,
