  • 1.  Log files written to cd-dvd

    Hello Friends,

You know we can log files written to usb disk via an Application Control.

One of our customer is looking for a solution to log files written to cd and dvd media. I tried same policy and check CD and RAM options under application control policy. But it didn't help us.

So is there any way to log files written to CD&DVD

    Regards,

    Oykun

As of now NO but there is a workaround , follow this document.

After setting up an Application and Device Control policy to block CD writing, CD writing is not blocked as expected, and write attempt is not logged

I don't think this doc covers the OP's issue.

He wants a method of logging the writes to the CD drive... which is exactly what the doc you linked is saying doesn't get logged. You can use the workarounds to block writing, but since the logging function isn't working, I doubt if you can allow the writes and just log them.

Depending on the size of the environment in question, DLP (Data Loss Prevention) may be able to help.
