    Posted Jun 06, 2009 06:58 AM
    Hi All,
Recently i have configure symantec anti virus server. To my surprise log is growing enormously and consuming entire disk space. As a result i am not able to do anything (like copying the files, Taking Print Outs) and i am clueless about it.

Please update me on the following
    •           How to clear the log?
    •           How to remove Quarantined non-system files?

I am using Symantec Version: 10.0.1.1000
Operating System as : Window XP 2003 Advanced Server.

As I am new to this anti virus usage, Kindly explain in brief.

    Thanks in anticipation

By default, Reporting Server keeps 7 days worth of `transaction` logs in this directory. You may also have `tracing` enabled, which will further increase log size.

    Solution
    1. Log into Reporting Server through the Symantec System Center.
    2. Click on Admin, then choose Agent Configuration
    3. Here you can edit the configuration for the various agents. The largest log entries are generates by the first two agents in the list.
    4. Once you hit Edit, you can change the `Delete logs after` to a lesser amount. Please note that 1 day is the minimum! 0 days is not a valid entry.
    5. Make sure that Tracing is not checked.
    6. Hit Save to save your changes.

Can you dig out little and let us know what is the location of these log files are these log files or temp files?
Are these under 7.5 folder or some other folder?
Under 7.5 folder you have the quarantine folder so you can open this folder Select all and delete all quarantine files will be gone.
In the same location you will have logs folder you can do same with that if you do not need any logs.
Are you using reproting server as well because they produce huge log files.
