This issue has been solved. See solution.

If i create a new user that is a limited admin I get the following erorr:  authentication failure please try again.  If i create the same exact user name with full admin it works fine.  I looked at the follwing post and it does not resolve my issue:
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/log....

I am running the following version of SEPM:  11.0.3001.2224

Interesting as I set up our

Interesting as I set up our alternate admin accounts for Helpdesk to view and run scans, etc. and another for our management to get reports. This was I believe MR3.
We don't connect in any way to any domain or AD info - it's disconnected completely.
I've not seen this issue here and can easily log in at any time with any admin account.
This is what the properties look like (I did have a password issue until I set it to never expire)

That is pretty much how I have the account setup.  I am going to try to upgrade to M41a  and see if this makes a difference.

That's nearly always my next

That's nearly always my next suggestion.......... there were some fixes in the SEM from what I recall. Can't recall details, but just seems there were some items "fixed".
Can't hurt.
Love the fact that you can upgrade/update the SEM part and not reinstall all of SEP.

Check this

Hi,

try these steps:

1) open the console and go in Admin > domains, write down the name of the current domain for example Default (attention, it is case sensitive).
2) delete the limited account that does not work and create a new limited one
3) log off from the console
4) in the log on prompt type the new limited account credentials and fill out the text box "domain" as well with the domain name of point 1.

Success...

It seems "by design".

Cheers,

Regards,

Giuseppe
