Look for older backups

Trying to restore some corrupted files.  Backup list for the source is only showing 10 days.  Is there a way to look back further than that or is it based on the policy retention?  Retention is only 2 weeks.

could you make sure that you have succesfull backup 10 days earlier?

check if you have catalogs avaliable for all 14 days using the GUI-->catalogs

or form the bpimagelist command.

if you are able to see the all 14 days images and not finding the backup, then you need to look if those catalogs are compressed or not?

let us know your findings

Catalog search for the last year only shows backups as far back as 12/31/12.  BPIMAGELIST is:

I'm guessing from all this that I don't have anything older than 12/31/12.

If your retention is only 2 weeks that is all you can search for

If you backup to tape you could try and find some tapes that have not been mounted for a while and run an import against them to get some backups that you can use - they will be available again for 2 weeks after they have been imported

What is the OS of your master/media servers? I believe there is a Backup/Archive/Restore program you can use which will allow you to browse your backup contents based on specific criteria.

use this command to see in user readable formate.

bpimagelist -client lon-ish-fvs07 -U

if you still dont find the images older than 12/31/12., that probably answer your question,

that you dont have images for restore,so you can not."

hope this helps.
