Looking for a function to continue a job if it finds a directory missing

Created: 20 Jun 2013 | 3 comments

Hello all,

I'm sure many of you have come across the issue of a job failing to run after it finds that there are missing sub-directories in the original pathing that you designated for your job during creation.  My question is this:

Is it possible to setup a job to continue running even after it has found a sub-directory(s) missing to prevent the job from failing all together?

Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I've never seen this option available at all. Might be worth an Idea if so...

Do you have directories that get removed at random times? If is a known missing directory you could just remove it from the job?

As previously advised, there is no such facility.

If you have specifically selected the directory that has been removed, then you need to manually remove it from the selection list.

If you want BE to automatically handle directory additions/removals, then you need to select the directory at the next higher level.  For example, if you have

c:\a

c:\b

c:\c

and you select c:\a, c:\b and c:\c, then you have to manually handle any additions/deletions.  If you select c:\ (the next higher level), then BE will handle additions/deletions for you.
